Getting young people excited about working behind the camera in the film industry and making the variety of job possibilities visible – that is the intension of the Film Academy Day.
The action and information day on film professions has already been held twice with great success. It is conceived and organized by the Film Commission of the FFF Bayern and Bavaria Filmstadt. After the experiences of the first edition in 2023, the concept of the action day was further developed for the second edition in April 2024 and new impulses were set.
Different film professions will be presented in an interactive film set to enable visitors to actively participate. The set will be implemented with the support of director Oliver Mohr, who is once again putting together a young film team for an interactive program this year.
The set staff present their professions and tasks live and motivate visitors to help them with the camera, lighting, sound, script continuity etc. Afterwards, visitors head to the Info Area, where they can receive first-hand information on entry-level and job opportunities. Companies such as Constantin Film, the Bavaria Film Group, Pharos and Bayerischer Rundfunk will be represented. The Federal Employment Agency, the ZAV and the Munich and Upper Bavaria Chamber of Industry and Commerce will provide information about training opportunities and qualifications as well as lateral entry into the filmindustry. Educational institutions and universities will present training paths and courses of study. Also on site will be teams from Filmfest München, Stabil e.v., the “Ich will zum Film” initiative from crew united and many more.
