FFF Bayern
FFF Bayern is the central point of contact for film and games funding in Bavaria. With a funding volume of around 41 million euros (in 2023), FFF Bayern strengthens a growing film and games industry in one of Germany’s leading media locations. FFF Bayern’s task is to provide high-quality film funding in Bavaria in terms of both quantity and quality and to offer additional services for the film industry. The aim is to create and expand a powerful and competitive film and television landscape in Bavaria. In addition, the Bavarian Banking Fund, in which four well-known banks work together, finances the production and distribution of films supported by the FFF.
The funding areas include: the production of cinema and television films, screenplay, project development and talent film, the funding of innovative audiovisual formats, games, VR, XR, international co-productions as well as distribution and sales funding, the funding of cinemas and film festivals.
In addition to its funding activities, the FFF Bayern performs extensive advisory and information activities for the film and games industry. The numerous press and public relations activities are aimed at highlighting the capabilities of the Bavarian film and games industry and promoting films and games “made in Bavaria” at home and abroad with publications, websites and events.
The Film Commission Bayern is the first point of information and contact for national and international production companies and acts as an interface and moderation point for the production industry and the licensing authorities. The Film Commission Bayern ensures optimal filming conditions and in 2014 launched the FILMkulisse Bayern location initiative, which aims to open up all regions of Bavaria for filming.
It also promotes Bavaria as a film and media location at national and international festivals and markets.
Creative Europe Desk München GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of FilmFernsehFonds Bayern. It is financed in equal parts by the Creative Europe funding program of the European Union and the Free State of Bavaria. The Creative Europe Desk Munich is the contact point for media professionals in southern Germany, advises on funding opportunities within the framework of Creative Europe MEDIA and provides applicants with advice and support.

Film News Bavaria
Film News Bayern is published as an online magazine in four issues per year and is aimed at professionals from the fields of film and television, games, VR and XR, including producers, directors, distributors, world sales companies, the press, institutions and committees, television broadcasters, creatives and film technology.
The concept and design of Film News Bayern is produced in collaboration with the agency Schmid/Widmaier Design und Kommunikation, Munich.
The next issue of Film News Bayern (issue 02/25) will be published on May 8, 2025.
