4.2 million euros for five international films and series/ Komplizen Film and Aoife McArdle realize feature film in Bavaria

Five major international projects are being created with Bavarian participation: the theatrical adaptation "Foxfinder" with writer and director Aoife McArdle, the series "Hamburg Days" with showrunner Christian Schwochow and the series remake "Pope Joan" directed by Katrin Gebbe. Two projects will receive line producer funding: the feature film "Ghostwriter" (AT) and the Prime Original series "Superior" (AT).

  • Wer weiß schon, was ein Leben ist? (AT: Ich bin ich)

    Im Jubiläumsjahr ihres 150. Geburtstags erzählt „Wer weiß schon, was ein Leben ist?“ die Geschichte von Paula Modersohn-Becker - einer Künstlerin, die ihrer Zeit weit voraus war. Zu Lebzeiten kaum beachtet, gilt sie heute als Wegbereiterin der Moderne und des Expressionismus. Der Film nähert sich ihr feministisch, vielschichtig und gegenwärtig - als Porträt einer Frau, die kompromisslos um künstlerische Freiheit und ein selbstbestimmtes Leben kämpfte.

  • Library of Dreams

    Interaktive VR-Erfahrung, die auf Traumforschung aus Zeiten politischer Unterdrückung und Kriegen basiert. Nutzer*innen durchlaufen in etwa 20 Minuten die inneren Erfahrungsräume von neun Personen, deren Träume unter Bedingungen politischer Repression entstanden sind. Das Projekt verbindet historische Traumforschung, psychologische Analyse und räumlich-immersive Gestaltung, um Prozesse der inneren Verarbeitung politischer Gewalt zugänglich zu machen.

  • The White Saboteur

    Immersive, interaktive VR-Installation über das globale Verschwinden der Gletscher im Anthropozän. Die audiovisuelle Experience wurde für das Internationale Jahr des Gletscherschutzes 2025/26 der Vereinten Nationen entwickelt. Nach Angaben der Internationalen Kryosphären-Klima-Initiative (ICCI) wird innerhalb von 25 Jahren ein Drittel der Gletscher, die zum Weltnaturerbe gehören, verschwunden sein. Allein in den Alpen werden voraussichtlich 90 % der Gletscher innerhalb von 50 Jahren verschwinden. Die Experience thematisiert die fragile Balance zwischen Mensch und Umwelt anhand der schmelzenden Kryosphäre und macht deren Wandel unmittelbar erfahrbar.
